Residential Visits

At Kennall Vale School we are committed to giving the children a whole wealth of opportunities for personal development. Our annual residential camps give children opportunities to grow and learn things about themselves they they never knew before!

Children in Year 3 and 4 complete a one night residential and when they get to Year 5 and 6, they complete a 4 night residential.

Year 3 and 4 have been visiting Camp Kernow for the past 12 years. This has been an amazing opportunity for the children to live 'off-grid' for two days, foraging and preparing their own food. Children also learn about the local wildlife and even enjoy a story from the local 'Woodsman'! At night time, the children sleep in a structure inspired by palces all over the world. These include a tipi, geodome, up-turned boat and bell tents!

In Year 5 and 6, we aim to give children the opportunity to develop their resilience to challenge and try activities they may not otherwise get the chance to do. In past years we have visited the Isles of Scilly, Porthpean and Carnyorth - all part of Cornwall Outdoors. Children have the opportunity to try a whole range of activities such as climbing, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, archery, orienteering. Children learn about the local environment and why the habitats are so special where we live.
